Health care on the agenda at public meeting in Withington
The next meeting of Loton and Tern Local Joint Committee (LJC) takes place on Thursday 17 October 2013 at Withington Parish Room, where the focus will be on the changes to healthcare delivery in Shropshire.
Officers from Shropshire CCG (Care Commissioning Group) will speak about the “Call to Action” consultation which is taking place, looking at the how a high-quality health care service can be delivered in Shropshire. There will be a particular focus on the services available to people living in rural areas.
The meeting will also include an update on the improvements planned for roundabouts on the Shrewsbury bypass, which have previously been raised by the LJC members as an important issue.
Councillor John Everall, the chair of the LJC, said:
“The future provision of health care in Shropshire is a really important issue, and we delighted that the CCG will be joining us for the meeting and talking about the issues we face in Shropshire.
“We know from our communities that living in a rural county like Shropshire can make access to health care a challenge, and we’re be keen to hear how the CCG are looking to meet this challenge in the future.”
The meeting will also review the latest requests for grant support from the LJC, which include a request for funding for new gazebos for Upton Magna’s annual show, a new porch at Fitz Village Hall, and financial support for Nesscliffe Youth Club.
Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting and join in the discussions.
